Bridgets Pet shows his promise
Kieran Purcell saddled Bridgets Pet to victory in Galway’s concluding bumper with Joe Burns doing the steering.
Although the race had only seven runners it looked a competitive affair with five previous winners lining up.
Purcell’s four-year-old son of Arakan came in for late support in the betting ring, from 8/1 to 6/1 but he make a mockery of those odds when hitting the front two furlongs out to come home 11 lengths clear of 11/4 shot Valleymount
Charlie Swan and Nina Carberry teamed up with 4/5 favourite Sands Cove but this gelding didn’t feature at the business end as he finished a one-paced third, six lengths back.
