Billion wins again
Whatsabillion continued his pattern of winning on every second start as he flew home to land the Oysters Point Handicap Hurdle for John Murphy & David Splaine.
The two mares Model County Lass & Miss Mary Mac looked set to battle out the finish after the last with the former getting the upper hand but it was Whatsabillion who came on the outside with a late surging run to get up on the line by a neck.
The 14/1 shot who made it win number three of 2011 is a versatile sort having won a handicap chase over 2m 4f at Clonmel on his penultimate start.
The trainer was absent for the win, but the winning owner John Harrington from Naas, Co Kildare of the Don’t Know Syndicate later stated “That was a very good performance. He loves that ground and we will try to find something at the Punchestown Festival for him now.”
