Lady Bennett stayed on stoutly under Fran Berry in the final 200 yards to beat outsider Bobskier in the last race at Naas – the mile and two furlongs handicap.
With a furlong to race, Zariyna on the rail, Mahaazen in the centre and Lady Bennett on the outside were the three main protagonists, but Lady Bennett boxed on best for a length decision at 9/1.
Bobskier stayed on for second at 25/1, a length ahead of Zariyna who was made 3/1 favourite.
“I won a good handicap on her dam [High Reef]. I got a nice run all the way today and she stuck at it well,” jockey Fran Berry explained.
“I rode her the first day and she ran a nice race, but just got a bit tired. They told me she had come on a bit since her last run and they were quite keen on her today.
“She could even improve again for a step up in trip and is a good fun mare.”
