Ballygill Gale followed up on his recent Galway handicap chase success as he took the Roscommon Thanks For Support Handicap Hurdle under Barry Geraghty for trainer Val O’Brien.
Sent off the 5/2 favourite, the 8yo son of Sheer Danzig stayed on best away from the last to score by two and a quarter lengths from Noble Pageant back in second under Andrew McNamara for John Neilan at 8/1. Tillargon ran a nice race for trainer Anthony Mulholland to finish just a short head back in third also at 8/1 with Bryan Cooper in the saddle.
Ballygill Gale, who is owned and bred by Ballinasloe man Martin Donnellan, was recording his four career success today and his third at Roscommon.
The Tote Jackpot pool got to €20,897.00 and there was one lucky winner who received €15,672.00.
