The Galway Plate winning combination of Gordon Elliott and Luke Dempsey struck for the big prize on day one at Listowel with the J P McManus owned The Big Lense (10/1) in the Kerry Group Handicap Chase.
The Big Lense jumped right two out and bumped Cabaret Queen
The winner did the same at the last, an obstacle that Cabaret Queen got slightly wrong.
In the end two and a quarter lengths split them with two and three parts of a length back to Father Jed in third.
Cabaret Queen’s fellow Willie Mullins runner, Ask Susan (7/4 into 5/4 favourite) didn’t come up to expectations in fourth.
"I thought I got there too soon. When he got to the front he had a good look but he jumped well," commented Dempsey.
"I had only ridden him once and he gave me a great spin around there."
