Amazing One won for the second time in a twenty nine race career in the Sobac Soil.ie Thank You To All Our Customers Handicap (division one) at Fairyhouse.
It wasn’t for the faint-hearted but Wayne Lordan managed to engineer a passage down the inner on the Thomond O’Mara-trained 14/1 scorer. Eacharn coming off the rail saw Amazing One with all the room he needed in the final furlong and he didn’t need a second invite to shoot through and beat Eleuthera by three parts of a length. Musalsal (met trouble in running) came home well to be a head back in third, whilst second favourite Lady Savanah didn’t get a clear run and finished sixth.
“He won well. Thomond was happy with him, he ran two horses yesterday that ran well and he felt this fella was a bit more forward than them,” said Lordan.
“I got a good run around and I was lucky it opened up for me. He went to the line well.
“I was leaning to the left so I had no option but to keep going where I was going. We didn't go that quick and everybody was a little bit on top of each other but he quickened up well down the rail and won nicely.”
T.P. Madden, rider of Pulsating trained by Conor O'Dwyer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not get a clear run in the straight.
