Allied Victory put up a superb round of jumping on his chasing debut under rules to take the www.thurlesraces.ie Beginners Chase in impressive fashion.
The half-brother to 2008 Irish National winner Hear The Echo, also trained by Mouse Morris, won a maiden hurdle at Gowran Park last spring but looks set for much better things over fences judged on this performance.
Bryan Cooper sent him to the front before halfway and, with Kilcarry Bridge making a mistake four out and Prima Vista making a bad blunder at the second last, the Old Vic gelding was able to come home unchallenged.
The Gigginstown-owned gelding, who fell on his only point-to-point start, had an easy six lengths to spare over fellow 9/4 joint favourite Kilcarry Bridge at the line, with Prima Vista another nine lengths back in third.
Morris said, “I’m delighted and a win first time out (over fences) is great. Nothing is set in stone but we’ll try and find a winners-of-one. He’s bred to jump.”
Cooper said, “Mouse told me he jumped well. He looks a real chaser, and couldn’t have done it any better.”
