MID MON LADY upset the well backed favourite SUAILCE here, proving too battle-hardened in the end. MID MON LADY appears to stay quite well and is probably better than her 71 rating. Winning trainer Harry Rogers stated "I thought about running her in the mile handicap here instead but thought it was too short for her. She had experience on her side and is improving all the time. We'll go for a handicap here next."

Heavily backed SUAILCE attempted to make all and was possibly lacking a little company during the race but that was no excuse for her defeat. Howver, the leading pair did pull five lengths clear of the third and SUAILCE can prove difficult to beat next time out.

ALANIYA is closely related to Alamshar and looks a type to do better with experience. She stayed on in the straight, without ever threatening, but can win races, without being a star, over middle distances.

LIVING BY NUMBERS, fancied here on her debut recently, and CULLOFANE, who raced prominetly, ran ok races while LARA CELEB pulled quite hard but found little off the bridle.
