Nevereversaynever landed a gamble in the colours of Royal Ascot winner Lolly For Dolly at Dundalk today as the Fozzy Stack trained filly created a favourable impression in landing the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden on debut.
The daughter of No Nay Never was generally a 5/1 chance this morning but her price was cut gradually throughout the day and on track was cut finally from 5/2 to 2/1 joint-favourite.
Fellow joint-favourite Captainofthebounty represented Ballydoyle and carried an 86 rating into the race but Nevereversaynever, which missed the break slightly, proved too strong and in the end won very nicely under a hands and heels ride from current Champion Jockey Colin Keane.
Nevereversaynever carries the colours of David Keoghan (along with co-owners Casey McLiney & B Parker), whose Lolly For Dolly won the 2011 Windsor Forest Stakes at Royal Ascot and following today's success trainer Stack stated “she did it well and she's a filly we've always thought a bit of.
“Sprinting will probably be her game, I'd say. She didn't have any problem travelling behind them there and they were going good and hard.
“She'll be a better filly too when she grows into her frame, she's a nice filly.
“She just started growing a bit and had one or two small niggles, but nothing of any consequence, but she's a good filly, I think, hopefully.
“We'll put her away now, that'll be it.”
