Snag It scored on his first start since joining Pat Murphy when taking division two of the Now Racing Every Wednesday At Dundalk Handicap.

The grey son of Dream Ahead won off a mark of 72 for Matt Smith at Tipperary last year but failed to add to that victory for a couple of trainers in the UK and started life with Murphy here on a rating of 56.

The 10/1 shot was never too far from the pace and after leading under two furlongs out, drifted a bit right under Gavin Ryan inside the final furlong but kept on well for a three-quarters of a length success. Wishes And Dreams finished well to take the runner-up berth with Wajaaha a head further back in third.

Murphy said, "He probably had a few pound in hand and I'd say he's the kind of horse that needs to run with a bit of confidence.

"Gavin kept him on the bridle for as long as he could. We just didn't want to take it up with him so when the horse joined him down the back, and went ahead of him, it was perfect for us. He got a lead into the straight and I had said to Gavin to try and hit the line with him.

"He probably had to go a little bit too early, but it worked out grand in the end. Gavin gave him a great ride.

"We could have a bit of fun with him, we'll probably give him a little bit of a campaign up here now. Hopefully he will be able to compete in one or two more.

"There could be a bit of scope with him and just try and keep him sweet. He kind of had his own ideas. When you ride him that way, he's not too bad."
