The Noel Meade-trained The Caddy Rose looked a natural on her first outing over fences as she took the Emerald Facility Services Beginners Chase at Navan in good style.
Sean Flanagan 's mount travelled well to take up the lead after the third last and kicked for home from the back of the next.
The Presenting mare went on to record a four-length win over Lever Du Soleil in the two-and-a-half mile contest.
The 11/2 shot was adding to a bumper and hurdle win and trainer Meade said:-
“She was very good at home but she had only been jumping on the all-weather schooling ground and fences are small on it.
“I thought if she got into a nice rhythm that she'd have a great chance of winning.
“I was worried because the first day she ran over hurdles she went out and went 'what the hell is this all about'.
“She's from the same family as Harbour Pilot. She has a right good pedigree and she's a valuable enough broodmare.
“If we keep her in mares company she'll win her share of races I'd say. She'll stay well.
“She was very neat. She made one mistake down the back and other than that she was foot perfect.
“Jimmy (Kernohan) has been with me for years and that's the best one he's ever had with me. He had a couple of good horses with different people.”
