Joanna Morgan has long since been a big fan of Joseph O'Brien and she had further cause to admire the record breaking dual champion jockey after he'd won on her Antiquus in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Rated Race at Dundalk.
O'Brien was always to the fore on the nicely-backed 100/30 favourite and in the end the daughter of Footstepsinthesand accounted for Under Review (didn't get the run of the race but had his chance) by a length and a half.
Caroline Murtagh no doubt enjoyed her first race-riding experience as her mount Regal Power came home well down the outer for fifth spot.
"It was probably trainer error as I'd been running her over the wrong trip. She won over a mile on heavy ground as a two-year-old.
"She's been very keen at home and I said I'd try her over six furlongs as at least she'd settle.
"Her full brother, Ancient Sands wants a mile six so work that one out!
"She's in over five furlongs here next Wednesday and after that (the win tonight) we might have a go," reported Morgan in the aftermath on Mrs Mee's winner.
F. Lynch, rider of Sylvan Mist trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran too free.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Sylvan Mist, trained by Edward Lynam, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.
