Dr Mikey made all to win the bumper at Tipperary, the Kenyon Street Traders (Pro/Am) Flat Race, scoring under Declan Queally for Margaret Flynn.

Successful on his fifth start at Cork in August, the son of Dr Massini was sent off a 6/1 chance today, with Dos Picas (11/8fav) and Mountain Rock (13/8) dominating the betting.

Sent straight to the front by Queally, the successful bay seven-year-old was clear entering the straight, and the aforementioned market leaders couldn't reel him in, as he went on to score easily by eighth and a half lengths.

Dos Picas finished second under Nina Carberry for Noel Meade, while Mountain Rock was another length back in third under Jamie Codd for Adrian Keatley.

Margaret Flynn said afterwards: "I was a little afraid of the ground but he had been waltzing around the place at home with his chest out recently so I had to run him! He's better on good ground though and won't go on winter ground.

"He is seven but was a very free and highly strung horse and took time. I've learned how to train him and Declan (Queally) has learned how to ride him and rides him at his own pace.

"I'll look for a maiden hurdle next and I'll look for a big galloping track."

The winner is owned by the Santry Power Walsh Syndicate, and he is a half-brother to The Knoxs who won six times on the track.
