World Of Good opened her account at the eighth attempt when making most in the LMFM Radio Apprentice Maiden at Dundalk.
The John Murphy-trained filly was drawn on the wide outside but broke smartly and Donnacha O’Brien elected to take a prominent pitch.
The easy to back 11/2 chance poached a lead of about three lengths entering the straight, and this proved vital as she just held on in the closing stages.
The winning margin was a fast diminishing head over Dandy Dude with White Lotus a length and a half away in third.
O’Brien said, “It wasn’t the plan to make it but they were going so slow that I thought it was better to be in front. She got a very easy lead, and held on well at the finish.”
