Fratas was well off the bridle in leading over a furlong from home in the concluding mile handicap for fillies and mares, but really knuckled down to her task.

She appeared vulnerable in the final 150 yards as the closers began to get interested, however, Jamie Powell kept her rocking and rolling to win by a neck at 7/1. Adelaise the 15/8 favourite, got to within a neck but was never nearer. She was a length and a-quarter in front of Arch Enemy (7/1 from 10s).

“She did it the hard way today because she was up there the whole way. She's tough and seems to be improving,” said trainer Michael Mulvany.

“She's entered in a rated race at Cork next Wednesday and we'll see how she comes out of this and talk to the owners.

“She's done everything right since we got her and hopefully it's onwards and upwards.

“I think she gets further but she's very versatile. A mile there is a stiff mile and I'd be hoping she stays a bit further.”
