Rainy Day Dylan was an aptly named winner at a wet Cork, as he took the bumper, the Ticket Sales Online At corkracecourse.ie INH Flat Race, under Luke McGuinness for Shane Donohoe.

Pulled up on his two previous starts in point-to-point's, the son of Spadoun was available at 50/1 this morning, but opened on-course at 12's before going off a 14/1 chance.

Sent straight to the front by McGuinness, he made all and stretched into a clear lead down the back straight. He was pushed along with over two furlongs to race, and kept up the gallop from there, keeping on well to score by three and a half lengths. Leopards Leap was sent off the 15/8 favourite, and he finished second under Nina Carberry for Noel Meade, while Naturally Blonde (2/1) was a further twelve lengths back in third under Damien Murphy for Pat Cronin.

Donohoe said afterwards: "He's a lovely horse but he went wrong on me and I had to give him a wind operation.

"I thought an awful lot of him during the winter and thought he was going to bolt up in his point to point at Punchestown but discovered he had a wind problem.

"He only had the wind operation 12 weeks ago and that's his first run back.

"He'll be a real good horse and you'd want to see him over a fence - he's a real chaser. The plan was never to be running during the summer but it was just very lucky the ground turned soft for him.

"He is going to the Sales at Ascot on August 16th and that is the plan - he could actually be a decent horse."
