Credit The Giver mowed down front-running Palavicini Run to make it two out of two this season.

Aidan O'Brien 's five-year-old gelding took the honours at Naas in April and showed his well-being with another victory in Wexford. This handicap race was a step up in trip for him to an extended mile and one.

Palavicini Run set out to make all and although off the bridle with a quarter of a mile to race was still boxing on for Colm O'Donoghue.

Credit The Giver was settled towards the rear early on by Donnacha O'Brien and was pushed along in mid-division at the two pole.

He then came down the outside and looked a major threat as the race developed outside the furlong marker.

Inside the final 50 yards he collared Palavicini Run and got up to win by three parts of a length and justify 2/1 favouritism.

Palavicini Run (10/1) took the runner-up prize with Rock On Rosie a further half a length back in third at 14/1.

Joseph O'Brien said: “The rain was probably a help to him. We weren't sure about stepping him up in trip and Donnacha took his time on him.

“Obviously he got the trip and he'll probably get a mile-and-a-quarter.

“He's gone up 10lb and just won so hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him.

“He's improved since last season and we always thought that when he got a little ease in the ground there was a little bit more improvement.

“He might jump a hurdle in time.”

Prior to these two victories, Credit The Giver had raced nine times in his career without success.
