Cian (MacRedmond) gave him a great ride; they were going very quick early and the plan was to sit handy but he was very patient. He took the widest route but the safest route for a clean run. He is a good, fun horse who might be seen at the likes of Bellewstown through the summer. You run off the turf mark in Laytown so that could be a plan in September.

It worked out well. He's difficult in the stalls starting off,. He just loves this place and he's so versatile. He's been a great fun horse for Mark Devlin, who is a good patron of mine and has been with me a long time. It's great that the other horse was second as well. I'm going to dedicate this win to my brother (Laurence) who I buried last week. He was very fond of the racing.

He got upset the last time in the stalls and was slow away. He didn't run too badly but I think the draw today made a huge difference and he was last into the stalls,. Cian gave him a super ride. He was very cool on him up the straight and didn't go for him early. He had top-weight today but he was dropping in class. Mark Devlin, from the north, owns him and it's great for him as he just bought him a few runs back. He's a real fun horse and was a great buy for them. That's Cian's second winner for me now, which is great, and long may it continue. He's a good kid and I think he's going places.

it's a bit emotional because he belonged to Bart O'Sullivan our yard sponsor who passed away before Christmas. He got me the Dooleys (Syndicate) who own Saltonstall, some good horses and new owners in and I owe him a lot and I'm really delighted that this has happened tonight. His son James has taken over the reins and he's been a great help. I just can't thank him enough, he's just been super for us. It's great for the horse, and we're delighted for him, but it's just great for Bart who is up there looking down on us. I'm really really grateful for him. Seven is his trip. We'll come back here again and I think there is a good handicap in him during the summer.

Ronan (Whelan) said it will do his confidence a lot of good; he is a very genuine horse but it's good for him to win after finishing second three times in row. This was an afterthought as the plan was to win last week and then freshen him up, but I saw this race and said I'd put him in it. I was surprised at the ratings that he slotted in so nicely and I couldn't resist. He deserves a little break now; we might find one more race up here and then wait for the dry ground, which could be a while!
