I don't know what to say about him after that. Conor gets on very well with him,. I couldn't believe how well he was on the gallops yesterday. Four weeks ago we nearly lost him here as he colicked in the yard and we had to lunge him between races. I don't know what the key is with him but I'd love to find out as I'd get it for the rest of them!. I'm very happy for Patrick McCann (owner) and I have to thank all the support I have in the yard. I didn't plan to run, because it was six furlongs and he was carrying that extra weight today, but there wasn't another race until the 'awards day' on April 18th for him. He was in too good form to leave standing in his box. It's credit to the team at home. He's in the spa at home every day and all the little things are working very well for him. The target is here on April 18th. If a race pops up before and he's in good form he'll go for it.

that's a special one. I couldn't believe it and I'm actually speechless. He's the star of the yard, he's an older horse and the whole yard has gone a different way now as we've gone into more younger horses. We bought a lot of two-year-olds this week. He's a legend here and I'm very happy for Patrick McCann and his wife for their constant support. Keeping him in training was brilliant. dropping back down into that grade I thought he might have won the last day but it just took a run for him to get himself back. I went down to load him in the stalls tonight and he was chomping at the bit. I was very lucky to be able to claim him back in a claimer here last month. It was a chance we took but it worked out alright. We'll see what happens with him now. He's coming near the stage where we'd retire him. He hit a good note tonight anyway and we'll sit down and talk about it tomorrow.

I actually thought he had won a bit further when he passed me at the furlong pole. We've changed tactics on him. Everyone was telling me that he needs to be out in front. The last night we took our time - maybe it's not ideal over five furlongs. He's not a bad horse. It might not have been as good a race as it was last year. It was a last minute thing to enter him. I wasn't supposed to run him this week as there is a mile next week but it takes nothing out of him and he's a very easy horse to train. It's not down to the trainer, it's the horse and all we have to do is keep him right, keep him sound and feed him well. We changed a lot of things last year, he's bedded on paper and moved down to a different barn. He's a different horse now this year. It's credit to the horse and credit to Patrick McCann (owner), it's just a pity he wasn't here tonight as he's away on business.

it wasn't a shock — the shock this morning was the price of him!. He had slipped right back down in the handicap, he probably needed every bit of it and with young Andy's (Slattery) 7lb claim off as well, it was brilliant. He gave him a great ride. He got hampered coming out of the stalls and I thought he might have thrown the towel in but he didn't. He's a tough cookie. I was very lucky to get him and a big thanks to Patrick McCann (owner) and his family for supporting me. We were chasing this for a while (the tenth win). He was second in this race last year, he won it the year before so this is his time of year and it's good to get him back in good form. It took a while, the were a couple of issues with him but we got them ironed out.

He was supposed to run last week but I took him out for a pick of grass and he got down for a bit of a roll but he stumbled a bit and wasn't a hundred per cent sound,. I think he must have just bruised a foot so we decided to wait for this. He's a fantastic horse and easy to train. Big thanks to Patrick McCann for giving me a couple of horses and the opportunity with a good horse like that. He clipped into himself at the start and pulled a shoe but we've come out the other side of it and he's alright thank God.

He's a good horse but he takes very little training and he was fairly right before he came to me. Things didn't work out the last day and I didn't think Conor was going to get to ride him. He rides him out every day at home but it was only when the weights went up after Gordon Lord Byron came out that he could ride him. A big thanks to Patrick McCann for having faith in me to send me the horse. He's very versatile trip wise but you just have to make a bit more use of him over five. Every time a horse comes to his girth he finds. He's a tough, tough horse and it's a pity we don't have another six or seven of him in the yard.

He's had very awkward trips on his last couple of runs from outside draws and he can't find his momentum,. He got lucky today as he broke very sharp and got right into the lead. If he gets a trip like this he can beat any horse. He has always been in good form and I've never had any problem. He ran two bad races and we gave him a little bit of a breather, although he never stopped training. He'll probably come back here next month for the fast track qualifier over six furlongs and we'll go from there.

He's in the best form of his life. He's doing great-he's healthy and sound. He's a better horse than this level. We'll go on turf with him too. He got a bit boxed in tonight but I think there's more to come from him. I'd like to see him against good horses. He loves to battle and race-he's a real racehorse.

I trained on the east coast of the US for six years, am originally from Athens and was a professional jockey for 16 or 17 years. We have 22 horses at the moment but have 45 boxes and are trying to get a bit bigger. We bought a couple of yearlings during the summer and also have national hunt horses. I've been in Ireland two years now and came to work for Mr McCann (Patrick McCann, winning owner).
