he's come down a lot in the weights but he's never won over further than two and a half miles before today (3m1f). He's been running in Graded races all the time and the drop down in class helped him and it's lovely to see him win. He was actually sold to go point-to-pointing to England but the vet wasn’t happy with him!. he’ll get an entry in the Irish National, and could go next for the Leinster National at Naas - he wants really soft ground.

He jumps like a buck for Paul and it's great to have him back on this horse. I think that is probably around his trip and I'm not sure if he gets any further. He's probably a horse to stay at home rather than Cheltenham. I was annoyed that I didn't put him in the John Durkan, and he just wasn't right around Christmas time. We freshened him up and came here.

He jumped brilliant and got a brilliant ride as per usual. He ran a good race here at Christmas and Paul felt dropping back in trip would suit. He's in the Grade 1 here in two weeks time . the Moriarty. I don't know whether he'll go there or go to Cheltenham either. The Powers Gold Cup could be a race for him.

the run over hurdles had Texas Jack fit for the battle. He's a nice horse and is a half brother to Drumconvis and this is more his job than hurdling. He lost his way a bit last year and had a bit of a problem with his back which we couldn't sort out. He was hanging then but isn't doing that this year. He's in the Drinmore Chase and might go there but we'll have to see what else I have for that race. I think the further he goes the better he'll be and I hope he turns out to be a good horse for his owner Robert Watson who is a lovely man and a smashing owner to train for.

Originally I was going to run him over three miles but he had to go for a novice hurdle somewhere so I decided to come for this. He's doing things right, . I was half worried at the top of the hill but I knew Paul knew what he was doing. I think he'll be better on a better track. He handles testing ground and he's getting stronger all the time. I think it was a fair horse of Charlie Swan's that he beat there.

we've always liked Texas Jack although when he won at Punchestown, we thought our other fellow (fourth placed Johannisberger) was the better horse. However he picked up well there and did so again today. He was a bit ‘innocent again' today but it's a nice place (Fairyhouse) to bring them - there's plenty of open space and there is decent ground here too. He's a nice horse and hopefully will keep going the right way. He'll go for a two and a half miles novice somewhere now.

The reason Nina rode the other lad is that we thought the ground might not be soft enough for this horse,. He's a nice horse and he quickened up really well. We brought him to Leopardstown to work before Cheltenham and maybe he knew a bit more than the other lad. The other fellow ran well but was very green. He didn't get into the rhythm of the race until it was over. They'll both be put away now until next season and go hurdling.
