he (Rupert Lamb) seems to have improved from last year. Hopefully we can tidy up his jumping and I think he'd prefer to go faster; you could see when they quickened up he jumped better. He could step up in distance but I think we'll keep him at that trip at the moment, if we can find the right races for him. It was a nice start to his season.

That's my first winner for Willie though I have ridden a point-to-point winner for him,. jockey Declan Lavery . I've been with him about two years. Rupert Lamb is a proper two miler and jumps well. We didn't go that quick, but I knew he had loads of gears and he quickened for me.

Rupert Lamb jumped very well and I said to Ruby to be up there. Any time he met a fence wrong he was able to put in a quick one and he looks like a horse who could run in a handicap now. I think that's his trip (2m1f) and he'd like better ground but it's hard to see him being an Arkle Chase horse. He'll probably stay at home of the likes of Fairyhouse and Punchestown.
