He did it well. They probably didn't go fast enough early on. He had a look at one or two of the new aprons on the fences but he winged the latter ones and was very good in the dip. He could have done with a fence in the straight but Galway is Galway. I'd give my right arm to win a Plate owing to family connections to the place so we'll see about that in the future. He's doing alright at the minute but much like with women we'll see how things go!. He's a magnificent stead . an old fashioned chasing type. He trains himself. He had a little break after Punchestown and he'll have another one now.

I'll talk to the owner to see whether he gets a holiday now. He seemed to love that ground. I don't know what happened in Navan (fourth on April 6). Maybe it was too soft for him. He's a different horse now. He was entitled to win that race, maybe not by 19 lengths. He was impressive.

That was good. He lost his way and that's why we decided to go back over hurdles with him. It looks like he's more of a spring/summer horse now. He'll go back over fences but he's not an easy horse to place being rated in the 140s.

Rathlin is an improving sort, was good today and jumped well. He is settling a bit better and that is a lot to do with it, as he was just running himself into the ground previously. I've no big plans, but we could possibly go for something like the Powers Gold Cup with him. He'll get three miles no problem and we'll just freshen him up a bit now. I think he'll go on any ground as he is a good-actioned horse.

He scoped very poorly after Clonmel (2nd there to Definite Class). I was gutted but my horses were very sick around that time. I think the world of him and his owners, Gigginstown have supported me very well. I think he's the type of horse that would be better in a championship race where they'd go a better pace.
