He is improving. I am delighted he got the trip. There is a long way to go but he could go for some of the better races now. He might even go for the two and a half mile races if the Fly (Hurricane Fly) doesn't turn up.

He struggled a small bit on the tacky ground. While he is tough and honest he never does much and you just need to make him. He is entered in a Grade 2 Hurdle at Tipperary on Sunday week and the Cesarewitch (October 9th) is also possible. Derek (O'Connor) said he just had to give him a smack to go on and win.

He needs soft ground,. Plans are fluent. He has two options in France over hurdles. One in ten days and the other in a month.

He did it well. He wants real soft ground . that's the key to him. He is not going to Cheltenham, the ground wouldn't be soft enough for him. He is more likely to go for another handicap before the end of the season.

I'm happy with that. He quickened up well between the last two,. A faster pace would suit him as he stays well. The Triumph is the target but he wouldn't want the ground too good.

He did it okay. He is in the Grade 1 at Leopardstown on February 7th (the Spring Juvenile Hurdle - now 5/2 with Ladbrokes) and we'll know what level he's at after that. I told Paul not to let it turn into a sprint and that's why he went on from so far out. I didn't expect him to sit last early but they'll never again be a Paul Carberry.

He's a nice horse, he had a small bit of a setback this Summer but we got him right. He loves soft ground and he's a real decent sort. His next outing will be at the Newmarket Sales at the end of the month. He will make a lovely national hunt horse.
