we were saying on the way up that he loves this place and he won this race a few years ago carrying a stone more. He has lost a bit of his speed but the bit of rain helped and he got a handy lead in front. The young boy gave him a very good ride. He might got to Cartmel in a couple of weeks time for a Lady riders race if I can get a good jockey for him. They are always turning and turning there, a bit like Sligo, and I think it will suit him. He won his bumper here six years ago and has won seven races since. He was my first ever winner and has been a very good servant.

For his first time over fences he ran very well. You wouldn't put him over the bigger fences, he'll run at Tramore or here. He loves that ground. This track suits him. He could go back to Sligo, he's entered this week but it's unlikely he will go there this week. He's very game. Mick said he wanted to go long at everything. I wasn't sure he would get the trip.

He likes it better here than anywhere else,. The wee bit of cut in ground helped as he was a bit sore after Downpatrick last time. A mile-and-two and going that bit faster helped him settle better today. We'll probably keep him to the Flat for the moment. He definitely needs a stiff course over a mile-and-two.

We wanted to make sure he settled today because if he done the same as the last day it might blow his mind and it could finish him with racing. He could maybe go to Galway now for a novice hurdle and he will probably need further in time.

We weren't meant to go to the front but he can tank. I put in a new gallop last year and this is my first runner since.
