it is great for the horse and great to get a winner in these (Gold Cup-winning) colours. He got into a rhythm and really enjoyed it and this track seemed to suit him as there is a lot of jumping. He jumped fantastic and I was able to boss the race. He accelerated, I was always confident and it was a great bit of placing by Willie. These races take winning and he has won two races this year off his rating and it is now easy place him. I enjoyed it to be honest and it is great to win on him.

it’s great to get him back to winning ways. He did a little bit of work during the week which was fantastic and we decided to come here. Paul said he really enjoyed himself and we’ll see where we go from here. He’s in everything at Cheltenham - he’s run great races there but it’s hard to find a race that he can win at Cheltenham. There is also Aintree so we’ll have to talk to the owners and see where we go. He’s a real favourite of (owners) Marie and Joe Donnelly.

I was very happy with the way he jumped early on and obviously he made a mistake at the last but what particularly pleased me was the way he fought back when it looked like the game was up.

He just went a bit long at the last and genuflected a little bit. He’d been showing me he’s a good horse for a long while. He did a nice gallop in the autumn and I was afraid to do any more with him. We just waited and waited until he came right, and he’s right now at the right time. He lacks a bit of experience for his next run but we’ll have to try and give him that at home. It will possibly be in the first race (at Cheltenham) in March. We have plenty of experience into him, and I thought for a horse having his first run he jumped very well except for the last. He’s improving all the time as he gets fitter and stronger. I thought he looked very well today. Broken Soul made sure there was no hiding place for any horse, and even at that good gallop Ruby looked under pressure to hold him. Once he’s upped in grade they will be going a step faster, and he will be easier ridden at that stage.

Let's Dance is probably best in at the weights and won very well in Leopardstown at Christmas. She's a second-season novice, which is big help and she could be hard to beat. Montalbano was good in his maiden hurdle at Christmas and looks a stayer. He needs the experience and this race will tell us a lot about him. Kemboy is probably the quickest of the three. He showed a lot of gears to win on his first run for us in Limerick. I think the ground will suit him, but on the bare form he probably needs to improve. We'll learn plenty about him as well.
