His experience was a big help, and he'd no trouble staying or jumping. He could come back for the Deloitte but he's had a busy time so we'll have to see. He's learning all the time, and the only reason we ran him in the summer was because he missed last season.

I thought Ruby got the run of the race. He was in a great position the whole time and the horse jumped well. He did everything right — I think he might have just missed the third last. Bachasson was never at the races and he didn't appear to operate, whether it was down to the weather or the ground. He didn't jump, he didn't gallop and he just got into the race around the last bend. I thought he ran a tremendous race to get as close as he did and to get as far away from the opposition as well. If they met again I don't know which one would win. One or both of them can go to Leopardstown. The French people tell me that Bachasson can go out in trip, while Long Dog could go out in trip any time he wants.

David came to us when he was 17 so he knows our operation. He's seen it grow, he knows the way I think and the way everyone else in the yard thinks. He's going to be a huge help organising work in the morning, and riding work as he always is. Anytime in the past when I'm buying horses I usually send David to ride them. It's great to have someone of his calibre going to Australia with Max Dynamite, and the feedback that I will be able to get from him will be huge. David rode two French Champion Hurdle winners for me but perhaps my best memory is him winning on Mystical City in the Galway Hurdle. He was the first claimer ever to win the race, and his 3lb's made all the difference that day.

Ruby thought after the race that he should go up in trip and I loved the way he galloped all the way to the line. After the mistake he made, and to go up the hill the way he did, screamed that he needs a trip. I'm more than pleased with the way he responded to the mistake.

He's a horse we always thought an awful lot of. He's a big horse and we minded him as a two-year-old. Hopefully there's tonnes of improvement and we'll take it from here. We think he's progressive and Chris gave him a great ride. There's a lack of mile or mile and two maidens at the moment so it's nice to get one.
