Leopardstown Sun, 28th Dec, 2014 (1st)
He was very, very good. We thought that he stayed and I'm delighted. He was brilliant. He's very economical in his jumping. He stays well and has a bit of class - that's what you need in the three-mile Grade 1. Bryan was fantastic on him. I don't have to worry when he is riding. Christmas was very hard as you can imagine but this is fantastic for the lads in the yard and it's what we work for everyday.

I'd my first ever winner (Church Island) in this race in 1980 and rode it myself!. he (Lieutenant Colonel) improved from his run at Navan and is a decent horse; the horse that beat him then looks a fair horse. He looked to stay well and is great jumper; the majority of their horses (Gigginstown House Stud) jump exceptionally well and he should be able to compete in a few of the novices after that.
