I have him two and a half months and he is a grand, hardy horse. We said we'd try Karen on him as sometimes those older horses go well for lesser-experienced riders. I was wondering this morning whether to run him but I went back through his form and he had a very good run at Galway last year on soft ground when he stayed on very well up the hill. He wouldn't want firm. Laurence (Dempsey, owner) is from the midlands but is away in England at a brother's birthday.

That’s his first win at a mile as he’s won ten races at seven furlongs. He stuck it out well today. There is a couple of races Derby weekend for him, and maybe he’ll go back to seven. He’s a tough, genuine little horse and it’s great to get him another win.

He did it well and was down to a mark. It was a hot race and it's great that he won. He's tough and he's genuine. The handicapper gave him a chance, basically, and he got his head in front. Last year he won first time up for me and he ran admirably all year. He was just a bit too high. He was fourth in a premier handicap at Leopardstown, and looked like he was going to win turning in, but the English horses caught him at the finish. He's tough, he's genuine and I'd like a few more like him. It depends on what the handicapper does now, he has to give him a chance.

I thought he would come on for the run today. He ran a little behind the bridle and was a bit rusty but David gave him a grand ride. There is a handicap at the Curragh next weekend that would suit him, so if he comes out of this okay he could go there. He's won four times at the Curragh before. He's very versatile and can run over six, seven or a mile. Hopefully he can go on from here.

He loves the Curragh. He was very quiet at Fairyhouse but he lights up when he comes here. He's a fantastic horse for us. David Simmonson gave him a great ride. We haven't claimed off him for a long time and he's been running consistently. I thought our chance had gone with the rain last night, as he likes it quick but he stuck at it well. He's in the big seven furlong handicap at Galway but will need quick ground. He has run well in it before. If the ground holds up we'll have a crack at it.

I'm delighted with him. I actually thought our other horse (Breathe Easy) might turn the tables on him today. He's a specialist seven-furlong horse. He's an absolute legend and keeps improving and improving. He's a super little horse. He's in at Galway in the seven-furlong handicap, in which he was fourth last year. Hopefully he keeps getting decent ground. It worked out lovely for him today and Pat gave him a great ride.

He won this race last year but was 12lb higher today. He's a little legend and is the most consistent horse in training. He was quite keen and fresh but is so laidback at home on the gallops. He loves the Curragh. He ran great at Galway last year in a Premier Handicap behind three English horses. I'd love to have a yard full of ones like him.

He was so fresh in the stable yard today and is a very intelligent horse. He was robbed the last day with the draw, and is ultra consistent. He ups his game when you want him to and is so easy to train. He'll get a little holiday now. He deserves it.

He is as hard as nails. He had two dinners last night and he was still shouting at me for more when I fed the others. Food and sleep he is a typical man!

He so deserved that. He has been so unlucky for about his last five or six runners, and he reared a bit coming out of the stalls today. He is a very fresh horse and he was like a maniac at home yesterday. He is small but he is built like a tank and he is very gutsy. All he does is eats and sleeps. This was to be his last run before we gave him a break and gelded him. His owner is Laurence Dempsey from Edenderry, and he bought him very cheaply (€3,200 at Tattersalls in September 2011), and I'm delighted for him as he is a great supporter.

That was a surprise. Everyone that's ridden him has said that it's a bit quick for him here and that he wouldn't be at his best until he hits the turf. He's a bit backward and he didn't come in until July last year. All he does is eats and sleeps. He's pretty small, only about 15 hands but he seems to enjoy his racing. It was his first handicap and I thought he'd need the experience but he stays well and kept at it.
