the boys have good fun with Exquisite Acclaim and fair play to Tom O'Connor. He has horses with Henry (De Bromhead) as well and it's great to get a winner for them. I think his mother isn't well so that will be a bit of a tonic for him and I wish her well. he battled well, I think the horse on the inside (Bellaphina) helped him along and he's a tough ole soul. We were going to go to Leopardstown but I thought this track, a front-runners track, would suit him well and the horse needs fast ground. Adam know him well.

In fairness to the horse he’s put his head down and hit the line really hard. We gave a lot of money for him and he was a bit of a disaster when he started first. He was with Jessie and he ran in an Italian Guineas and in good races. Maybe he had an overly inflated rating at one stage and that can happen sometimes when you run these horses in Group races. He has come back down now and he has got confidence. He's tough and he's hardy, and he's really putting his head down. He has a bit of class to him. If he keeps improving, God only knows what will happen. I don't think the other horse (Shoot To Kill) got home, we'll drop him back in trip and hold him up.

Tom O'Connor (part owner) rang me this morning and said 'I think you should let that horse bowl along today'. He's usually very quick out and fair play to Tom. We mightn't have done that before that, but we were always going to sit handy. We said we would be brazen and just send him on, and we did. He (Adam Caffrey) gave it a smashing ride and Cian (MacRedmond) gave the other horse (runner-up Hightimeyouwon) a great ride as well. He was unlucky and you couldn't fault either of them. The runner-up has lost little in defeat, but he's getting a few quid. He's (Exquisite Acclaim) a bit of a tricky character, but Adam was very good on him and he was strong on him. He had some very good form as a three-year-old horse and he cost a bit of money. At least he has got a few quid and they are having a bit of fun with him. He has been very consistent up here all winter.
