Ruby Walsh was on this 7/2 favourite and it brought-up a brace for him also as he had been aboard Definitive Edge half-an-hour earlier.

Definitive Edge was a beaten favourite on his first three starts but the Overbury gelding has really got the hang of things now and he made it three on the bounce when making all to take the Easyfix Rubber Products Novice Hurdle in impressive style.

Definitive Edge ran out a smooth winner of the Bet On Course With Tote Maiden Hurdle on his jumping bow. The son of Overbury scored by a comfortable twelve lengths in the hands of Ruby Walsh.

In the familiar silks of the Friends In The North Syndicate, made famous by Imperial Commander, Patrick Mullins rode out Definitive Edge in the final furlong to assert for a four and a half length win in the A.I.B Mayo Flat Race.

He is improving nicely and he'll go for another novice now, maybe in Listowel. He improved his jumping from Sligo and he seems to get his stamina from his dam's side. He isn't too slow either though, as he showed when winning a bumper at Ballinrobe so I wouldn't be that worried about dropping back in distance either. How his jumping would stand up to going that bit faster over shorter, I don't know.
