Going on his flat form I was hoping that a step up in trip would suit but I hadn't bargained on the soft ground but he handled it against these. He didn't do any more than the ratings would suggest and we might look at staying at this trip. He could run in the three miles race at Leopardstown over Christmas, and I'll see what else we have in it but it would be a nice race for him. No other race came up for him so I decided 'why not three miles'. He is 152 at 2m4f and on his form on the flat he could be better over three miles. He could be 160 plus at three miles and hopefully that is what he is. There is also a two-mile race for him at Dubai on World Cup day for a million. He doesn't disgrace himself when he does travel but he could have a little bit of jumping to do first.

Clondaw Warrior won at the meeting last year on the Flat. He is up in the handicap now over hurdles as he has been very consistent. He is a horse that wants good ground as that's when he shows his best. We are expecting a big run from him. It is not ideal running Bamako Moriviere off top weight, but the race is worth so much money and there are not many opportunities to run for this kind of money. He is an improving horse, but top weight might just make life difficult for him.

He just missed the cut in the Galway Hurdle last year and hopefully he'll get into it this year!. We have an entry for the Scottish Champion Hurdle and he ran a bit better than I expected today. We didn't enter him for the Yorkshire Cup which closed today but they went such a gallop here that it played into his hands. They went very fast and all just seemed to collapse. I thought it was probably ride of the week. He'd only a few behind him at Ballyhack, and got a lovely run through but he was brazen enough to take it.

He'll probably go for novice hurdle somewhere now. We just wanted to get this hurdle out of the way. He wants good ground and will go for some of the Festivals now. He jumped super and Brian gave him a great ride. He done all the schooling on him at home. Brian lost his seven pound claim there and it was a nice way to do it.

I bought him off Colin Bowe. I'm delighted for Paul (McMahon) who puts a lot of money into the game and this is my first horse for him. He was beaten by a better horse at Tipperary the last day. He is only a 4yo so he will have a break now and might come back for a winners bumper at Galway. He was placed in his two point-to-points, he jumps well and I'm looking forward to going hurdling with him.
