We had awful problems with allergies last year and, in fairness, John (Raymond Eastwood, owner) is very patient. He just had the patience to give him the time. We found out late in the year that he is allergic to a lot of stuff that horses shouldn't be allergic to like hay. He is on a special vaccine now that seems to have done the trick. We thought we would have him back for Galway and we probably shouldn't have run him. We were training him and we just ran him. He does like the surface but I don't think it is essential, he had a great run in a premier handicap in Cork last year. I'd love to win the Lincoln with him, I think he could be good enough. I don't think soft ground will bother him. If I do that, I'll probably do a little tidy up on his wind after Christmas.

he won again, but I was hoping to stay below 70!. I had a plan in mind but I'll have to change it now and he won't run again until the turf. He was going to go to Leopardstown, as I think he'll love it there, but he'll have to go for a different race now.

He came back (after Cork) and he was all wrong and I gave him a break. I honestly thought he wanted further because he was maybe a bit weak. When we brought him back, the more we did with him, the quicker he was getting. His pedigree suggested this trip. In fairness, John (Eastwood, owner) lost plenty of money on him in Cork so it was great to get a bit back today. Rory has ridden horses for me for ages and I gave him nothing but rubbish, so it is nice to give him a winner!. He'll run once more but he's a big baby and I don't want to kill him. I won't rush him back, maybe the middle of January.
