I'm delighted for Robert as he works really hard, and he deserves this. He's good value for 10lb and has a cool head. I’m also delighted for Paul (Rooney, owner) as he's given so many lads a chance in my yard. Nine furlongs is probably his ideal trip but I thought a mile here on a stiff track would be okay. He's very genuine.

They went very fast. He's a very genuine horse. He tends to hit the gates well and get to the front but when something takes him on he can do too much. We knew there would be plenty of pace so decided to sit wide and get a lead for a change. It worked out well. That's probably his ideal trip. He wants to win and that's a big thing. He's a lovely solid horse. He's in the Topaz Mile at Galway and I have him in a maiden hurdle down there as well. We'll get him home and see how he is.

He is a smashing, straightforward horse. He liked the ease in the ground and I spaced out his runs. I had him entered in a hurdle at Naas last Monday but I said I'd keep him for this. He jumps well, we have done plenty of schooling with him and he will be a grand horse next year.

The drop of rain helped and the drop back in trip. He also had a first time tongue-tie so it was a combination of things,. His last two runs were good. He's honest, stays and did it well.

He paid the price in the final furlong for taking on Time Of My Life at Wexford last time,. He has progressed since then and the better ground suited but I didn't think he'd win like that. He's a big horse and will jump a hurdle in time.
