I've always been into horses and my father David was a good rider but probably gave up prematurely. He rode professionally and was stable jockey to Michael Hourigan at the start. I gave up riding and did a college course but being indoors wasn't very good for me!. I had another mare who won a maiden hurdle at Wexford (in 2021) and she is in foal now. All my family were there that day and they're here today as well, so it is brilliant. I'm delighted for Anthony who works for me and he claimed the horse. I recommended him for E10,000 as he was looking for a horse to ride and I thought this fella would give him plenty of fun. He is a quirky horse who can take off after jumping the last and I'm delighted for Anthony. I don't think anyone had too much money on but it doesn't matter.

they went fairly hard and they stopped in front. He had form on heavy ground so handled it better than most of them. He could go back on the flat but I don't think he liked jumping fences the few times he jumped them.

We hacked around, we'd do more at home. He hasn't worked since he won at Clonmel and he loves being fresh,. I was happy to let Darragh (O'Keeffe, on Great Bear) go as slow as he wanted because he used to just about get two miles but he has got stronger now and is more effective in a finish than he used to be. It was a blessing in disguise that he didn't get into Cheltenham as I would have ran him and he had an easy race there so it's great that we're here and great that racing is on. He will be for flat for the summer; he is a big horse and I wouldn't want to run him on quick ground but down the line fences will be his job too.

I followed the favourite and he stopped down the straight and I won't say I went by him at speed, but I got by him. It was a very ordinary race and he was probably rated to win and he is actually very ground-versatile and has good ground on the flat as well. He didn't feel in love with that ground but I don't think any horse would be. It is sapping, gruelling, sticky, deep and not nice for any horse. There was a lot of sloppy jumping but that's because they are finding it hard to get out of it. He's entered in the Fred Winter next week but I'd say we'll take our time with him.
