We had fortune on our side and he was probably jumping a bit slow for that type of contest but he jumped safe and it paid off in the end,. The rain probably hadn't soaked into it yet being the first race on the track and everything played into his hands. We might go out in trip with him. That was nearly our last race and we were thinking about going the cross-country route but possibly the Aintree National is an option next year. After his run in Italy we were happy he'd stay and he wants further than that (today's 2m4f) trip - the reason we were going cross-country was to get better ground on those tracks. Once the ground turns we won't have much for him.

I didn't expect as much pace but it suited him and his jumping really came into play. He loves it here,. The plan all along has been the Gran Premio Merano (in September), although he will get an entry in the Kerry National. Sometimes the ground can be too soft at Listowel. He could be a National horse next year.

She's all business at home at the moment. I think she's been in as good a form as she's ever been in her life the last couple of weeks. She's really buzzing. So long as there's not too much rain, we'd be expecting a big run from her. She gets a good bit of weight from the top horse (Alelchi Inois) with her sex allowance and hopefully she'll pick up some black type, which I think she deserves.

He was very good and it was lovely to see him jump very economically. It was great to see him do that around Galway with a view to future years though he's not likely to have a nice handicap mark after that. Having said that he's built to carry weight and though opportunities might be harder to find now we'll keep him to the Festivals . Killarney and Listowel. Good ground is good for him.
