Gun Shoot finally got that all important win to her name as she took the bookings@dundalkstadium.com Handicap for Pat Martin and Conor Hoban.

The four-year-old daughter of Strategic Prince, who has been placed five times in the past, was having her fourteenth career start this evening, and she was sent off a 6/1 chance (touched 15/2 on-course).

Formerly trained by Colm Murphy, the successful bay filly chased the leaders for most of the contest, before improving on the outside two furlongs out.

She came with her challenge a furlong from home, soon hitting the front, going on near the line to score by a length and three parts. New Regalia was sent off the 2/1 favourite for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning, and she finished back in second, while Havelock Ellis was a length and three parts back in third under Wayne Lordan for Willie McCreery at 10/1.

Pat Martin said afterwards: "She was due that. She is quite highly strung and we have worked out a routine that suits her.

"I’m delighted for her owner Gerard Mulconry. He is from Limerick and this is his first winner."
