Permission was given for Tarseem (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start, be mounted on the course and led to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Tarseem (IRE), which broke through the rail when being led in at the start of this race and was therefore withdrawn by the Starter at 2:25pm.
Milton Harris was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the gelding had refused to race at Newton Abbot on 20 August 2022, Harris was informed that any future similar behaviour from Tarseem (IRE) may result in the gelding being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
It was noted that as the start was effected, Razzo Italiano (IRE), placed fourth, jammed on and shifted right-handed, resulting in the rider of Rock The House (IRE) being unseated and Tiffany Rose (GB), placed sixth, being severely hampered.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Razzo Italiano (IRE), with the Stewards satisfied that Rock The House (IRE) was deemed to be a runner.
After crossing the winning line, the rider of Stigwood (IRE), placed third, lost his reins, resulting in the gelding jumping the hurdle shortly after the line.
As a result, the winner, Baliyad (IRE), was unable to negotiate around the flight and subsequently jumped the hurdle, resulting in Ned Fox being unseated and bringing his mount down.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
