FormscanBy Gary Carson - FAMILIAR DREAMS can cap a fantastic season with a fourth straight bumper success. The Postponed mare, a 4,000stg purchase, has really come into her own this year with some powerful front-running performances, including a commanding success in Listed company at Fairyhouse last time. She will make it a tough test for her rivals, particularly if getting a bit of rain. Patrick Mullins partners Aurora Vega from the four Closutton runners. The daughter of Quevega was beaten at a short price in the Grade 2 bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival having won her previous three. Air Of Entitlement made a good impression on her racecourse bow at Cork and is another for the shortlist.

Quotes on Aurora Vega (IRE)
What a broodmare, two black type horses from three foals. The ground was a concern as she was a little bit keen but I think she was idling a bit in front and there was more in the tank. I’d be hoping we might aim her at some good bumpers in the spring — the Dublin Racing Festival, Aintree and Punchestown as there is good prizemoney. That’s what I will be trying to steer Willie towards anyway!. She keeps improving. She has a lot to live up to but she is doing it at the moment. She seemed to be fine on the ground. That’s a lot different than winter soft but she handled it fine. After Aurora Vega (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Fri, 29th Sep 2023 2m Bumper Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Familiar Dreams (GB)
I was very impressed with her the last day, the way she kicked on from them, and she was giving a lot of weight to the second horse. I'm very surprised she's still running in these same colours, I thought she would have been picked up the last day. My only fear going out was that someone said that Willie Mullins had been hitting the crossbar all day and he had two in this race. I said 'he's definitely going to do us here'!. She was very good, she loves being out in front. She doesn't have to be out in front but she has a big stride and she just loves using it. I walked the track and was very afraid of the ground, I thought it was horrible tacky ground. As Oliver Brady used to say to me 'good horses go on any ground'. She's my first Listed winner and she's very good, she's special. I sourced her myself, I drove to Newmarket and picked her out. I own 20 percent of her as well. I'm getting the boat at 10.30 to go to Wolverhampton now as I have six runners on Monday and Tuesday. After Familiar Dreams (GB) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Sat, 30th Mar 2024 2m Bumper Heavy

Quotes on Femme Magnifique (IRE)
She did that very well. I am happy she showed her true colours on the race track as things haven't gone right with her in the autumn. I took a chance and ran her and she has done it well. Quotes on Fleur Au Fusil (FR)
Jody was excellent on the mare, the mare was good and Jody gets on very well with her. It was an excellent performance,. It’s not the instructions you would give to anyone, to jump off and run away at halfway and still win! . Quotes on Mozzies Sister (IRE)
That was brilliant. We bought her from Ciaran and Liam Fennessy who I am friendly with and they recommended her. I rode in point to points with Ciaran for years and he told me to buy this one. We didn't have her long before her (second) point to point and I took a chance running her as it was local, but she bolted up. I knew when she was only 70% ready, that there was a lot more to come. I was hoping to come here for the point to point bumper on Easter Monday but we made a small change and were able to book Maxine. She might get an entry at Aintree or Punchestown, depending on what the syndicate think but she is decent. She is a lovely racehorse and I am mad about her. The owners (For The Love Of It Syndicate) are a good crew of farmers from west Waterford and they're thrilled to have a good one. After Mozzies Sister (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Thu, 21st Mar 2024 2m Bumper Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Sharp Object (IRE)
That wasn't unexpected, her work's been lovely. We got her off Paddy Turley who does a very good job with his breezers and his point-to-pointers. She came highly recommended and she's done nothing but please us since we got her. I'm delighted to win for the people involved. Obviously they're a big syndicate and it's great to get off the mark with the first horse we've had for them. They under-bid me at the sales for her and came in on her, because she was probably good value and she looks good value now anyway. She'll probably go to Gowran in a couple of weeks for a Listed mares' bumper if she come out of this all in one piece and the ground's not too bad. Diamond Boys handle soft ground but she has no bother with nice ground. She's pretty decent so I'd say she'll handle most types of ground. After Sharp Object (IRE) finished 1st at Ballinrobe on Fri, 15th Sep 2023 2m Bumper Yielding

Quotes on Thisistheway (IRE)
Her dam won twice in Wexford and won three overall. She also got Grade 3 black type. This is the first foal out of her and while she is not a big mare, she is a lot bigger than the dam who was tiny. She was ready to run in May and we let her out because the ground went too quick. She is actually not that long back in and I thought she might need the run, but because it's so close to home we said we'd come here and maybe in three weeks time go to Ballinrobe for the four-year-old fillies bumper. She is after winning now so we might go for the mares winners' race in Down Royal or go straight to the Listed bumper at Gowran. If the ground is okay she will probably go to Down Royal before Gowran. My father (Charlie) bought the granddam (Party Woman) as a foal and she won three times before she chipped a bone in her knee. She produced Little Mitch then and it's a real fillies pedigree. We still have Little Mitch at home and hopefully there is a couple more to come along out of her. After Thisistheway (IRE) finished 1st at Wexford on Fri, 11th Aug 2023 2m Bumper Yielding
