FormscanBy Tom Weekes - COKO BEACH was beaten 33 lengths in the Aintree National but had previously won over this course in February. Suited by soft ground and a dour stayer, he can put last month's experience to good use. A fifteen-year-old won this race in 2022 although last year's winner Vital Island - now aged 12, was pulled up behind the selection in that February race and should struggle to beat him. In-form Birchdale himself defeated Vital Island to win over this course last November but might also find the selection too strong. Stumptown is an in-form capable handicap chaser who stays very well but debuts over banks while The Bosses Oscar was placed in a Lingstown banks' race in November and needs to improve to win. Subset won at last year's festival but his best form is on good ground while Singing Banjo, winner of the 2021 renewal, is now 14 and his recent form is poor. Banks' debutante Bodhisattva was placed in the Ulster National and likes a stamina test while Enjoy D'allen's recent form is disappointing.

Quotes on Coko Beach (FR)
Coko Beach is a great horse who is a bit of a boyo at home, is a character and we're lucky to have him. He's been knocking on the door in all those races so he deserved to win one. Jack (Kennedy, stable jockey) wanted to ride him but I wanted to claim and thank God I did - Danny is a great little rider and it's a valuable 5lb. I thought it was a good race to watch, it was helter-skelter, they went a good gallop and all horses seemed to be home safe. We'll probably head for a National with him and he could also go for the Thyestes. He has also schooled over cross-country and we won't rule that out either. After Coko Beach (FR) finished 1st at Navan on Sun, 19th Nov 2023 3m Hcap Chase Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Stumptown (IRE)
We fancied him the last day in Punchestown, but he never jumped. He jumped the first couple, but then missed nearly every fence after that. For a horse who didn't jump, he wasn't beaten that far. A bit of better ground helped today and he jumped well. He had plenty of light at this fences and he gave him a smashing ride. Hopefully the handicapper won't be too hard on him as after he won his maiden hurdle, he had plenty of chances without winning. After Stumptown (IRE) finished 1st at Thurles on Sun, 22nd Jan 2023 2m 5f Hcap Chase Yielding

Quotes on Birchdale (IRE)
He was enjoying it anyway which with those horses is the main thing and the third horse ran well too. Vital Island is a good old yardstick to know where you are going. We might have a look at Cheltenham in December but he likes it anyway which is the main thing and he’d like a bit of nicer ground in the spring. We couldn’t even dream of going to Cheltenham for the last two years taking on them other horses which were in a different ballpark. It was Mica Malpic’s first time around here and Darragh (O’Keeffe) said he finished it out well and was warming up to it. He’d also like good ground but he enjoyed it and will be back again. He’d 12 stone as well and had to give 10lb to Birchdale. The new layout seemed to ride well. There are no sharp bends and everyone got around safely which is the main thing. After Birchdale (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Sun, 26th Nov 2023 3m Chase Soft

Quotes on Vital Island (IRE)
My lad galloped all the way to line and the minute he heard the other lad (Stealthy Tom) coming he went on again. That’s the full set of wins in all Punchestown's banks races now - I’ve won the other two and this (the La Touche) is the main one - it means everything to us. he stays going and we knew coming into it that the trip would suit him down to the ground. After Vital Island (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Thu, 27th Apr 2023 4m 2f Chase Good to Yielding

Quotes on A Rated (IRE)
Barry thinks he might improve a bit still. He done it fairly well and will probably head to Listowel now,. There is a two mile four novice for him there and I think that will be where he runs next if everything is alright with him in the morning. He likes that type of ground and I'd say that is the type of ground he wants. We will probably run him no matter what way the ground comes up in Listowel. Quotes on Enjoy D'allen (FR)
He has the makings of a lovely horse, we've known that and he improved from the last day, confidence-wise more than anything,. He really galloped to the line today and he impressed me. He hits a flat spot but with more racing that won't happen and he'll be some horse at the end of the year. He seems to go on any ground but he handles it well and we'll keep him going as a novice. We have 40 horses between flat and jumps and we're hoping this will help us along. We are open to a few more and we're going to keep the head down and keep working. After Enjoy D'allen (FR) finished 1st at Thurles on Wed, 27th Jan 2021 2m 5f Hcap Chase Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Streets Of Doyen (IRE)
He is a nice horse and has just taken time to come to himself. He has learned how to race now but doesn't do much unless he is asked and Philip (Enright, on Friary Rock) rode a lovely race there from the front and it didn't suit our lad but I think we had the better of him at the last. You could see coming up to the line he wasn't doing a whole lot in front either. He has a big engine and is exciting and likes good ground so I might put him away. He could be a Pertemps (Final) type horse in time and there's also the three mile handicap at Fairyhouse in Easter too. Not too many win three in a row. Simon (Torrens) is riding unbelievably and is worth his 5lbs claim all day long so I'm using him a good bit. After Streets Of Doyen (IRE) finished 1st at Cork on Sun, 18th Oct 2020 3m Hurdle Good
