FormscanBy Tom Weekes - SHAMAD, a well related type, returned to action with a reasonably promising run here last month and might get off the mark dropping back to 7f today. He showed some bits of promise on the turf last year (when his yard was largely out of form) and while he is now winless in eight starts, showed enough here latest to suggest he might win this ordinary maiden, with the drop down in trip a positive, having shown form over this trip and a mile in the past. The Phantom Punch, on the other hand, drops in trip but has yet to race at less than 1m2f. He has shown useful form over middle distances but there must be a question regarding his ability to be as effective over 7f (albeit he is by Canford Clifffs). Nigg Bay could be a big player now that he reverts back up to 7f. He was staying on well at the end over 6f last time and might have the ability to get involved today. Maysonette has shown form at this trip and while she is now heled by her rider's claim, possibly needs to improve to win. Above Us Only Sky also possibly needs to improve but has her place chance while Luna's Luck ran with some promise on debut but needs to improve to figure.
