Minella Crooner He's a tough horse who came out of a good home in John Nallen's. The race suited and he seemed to get his own way. He dug in well on the run-in and Sam was very good on him. He dropped his whip so thank God he won. He's a very good rider.

Wingmen We think he's a proper horse. It just didn't work out the last day but he's a very good horse. He's a very quick horse but he'll definitely stay further anyway.

Maxxum I was really looking forward to getting back on board him anyways. I tried to ride him very similar to when I won at Leopardstown on him, just keeping it simple on him,. he just got into a lovely rhythm and wasn't for catching. Carl seems to only win 100 grand handicaps!. He's a great fella, he's working full time in the yard and he deserves every bit of success he's getting. He doesn't do anything wrong and keeps it very simple. He was running a great race the last day in Fairyhouse and took a false step after the second last and fell. We came here fresh today, took a chance, and it worked out great.

Teahupoo He is really after stamping his authority on the staying division. This lad is brilliant. You can go wherever you want on him. You can make a move and go forward on him without lighting him up or anything. It was great for the horse and great for Jack, he has a big battle and it's going to be a long tough week. He said he was stuck in a bit of a pocket behind Paul and he had to get out. He said the ground might be as quick as he wants it but he was very good. He's a great horse.

Sermandzarak My other horses got balloted out of the race so I had to run something!.

Jumping Jet He has always said to me to put my head down, work hard and graft. He has shown me nothing but honesty. It means a lot and it is brilliant to get it. Garry Cribbin my agent has been a big help. I'm riding nice horses for good lads. The race panned out probably just the way I liked it. I rode her cold for a mile and gave her every chance. Luckily, it paid off. It is great to win it. Big thanks to Brian and Jayne McConnell, they are with me since before I got a trainer's licence, training point-to-pointers. It is great for Carl to win a big race like that. he wasted to do 10 stone and it made the difference. I thought the ground was too quick for her, but I said I'd roll the dice because it was a big race. She stayed going very well.

Valsorpresa He hasn't been straightforward, he was a bit keen early on in his career. He's going to win plenty of races - he's no Presenting Percy (brother) and he's not the biggest in the world, but he's going to win plenty of races. I'd say it is beautiful ground as it always is in Downpatrick. All credit to Downpatrick, every time you come into the racecourse there is something new. New vets box, new stable yard, new trotting up area. I think a lot of racecourses could take a leaf out of their book. Paul (Townend) is going to be very hard beat (in jockeys' title race), he's got serious ammunition for Punchestown. I thought coming into today if he (Kennedy) rode another four winners he would have a chance. Another three to go and Paul would have to ride 11 to beat him.

Brighterdaysahead The horses have been running well week, but we’ve been hitting the crossbar. I said a lot about this mare leading up to Cheltenham and I was gutted coming out of it, but we’re overjoyed today. She’s very good, I was nervous before the race because looking at her I thought she looked a bit light across her kidneys, but she showed how special she is. We can go wherever we want with her. I’m not going to say the best mare I’ve had because Apple’s Jade was pretty special, but she’s good. In this game there are always disappointments, but I look at life totally different now, I just love training winners and I love horses. But to win today is unbelievable. I don’t think the trip was the reason she got beat at Cheltenham, I thought she’d win. Willie’s horse (Jade De Grugy) has already come out and won at Fairyhouse. I just think on the day Jack and Paul (Townend) were watching each other and the other horse (Golden Ace) came and did them both. She’s gorgeous to look at.
