FormscanBy Alan Magee - IRISH POSEIDON progressed well on the Flat at Dundalk early last winter completing a hat-trick before switched to hurdles and shaping really well at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Matt Smith gave the dual-purpose gelding a break until two solid placed runs over hurdles last month at Killarney and Ballinrobe. If the five-year-old can brush up his jumping a bit he should prove difficult to beat. King’s Vow was a better horse on the Flat with four wins and a career high rating of 97. He’s not hit the same hights yet over hurdles but merits respect with placed efforts at Cork and again last weekend when weakening in the closing stages over 2m5f at Downpatrick. Digby made a pleasing start at Listowel earlier this month.
