World Of Fortunes set to fly even higher after Listed win

Progressive mare World Of Fortunes (9/4 favourite) took apart the field in the Listed Focus Capital Novice Hurdle at Limerick to remain unbeaten over flights after three jumps starts.

Owned by County Kildare domiciled Kerry man Michael F Broderick and trained and ridden by Wexford men Liam Kenny and Jordan Gainford, World Of Fortunes had her rivals chasing shadows from the second last.

Ultimately she had six lengths to spare over another female participant, Just For Love with two lengths back to the gelding, A Tipp For Gold in the bronze medal position.

"She is improving the whole time and there are bright things ahead. Jordan had done a lot of work with her and was brilliant today," said Kenny's son James.

"She won her bumper over two (miles), won her maiden over three so is very versatile: anywhere from 2m4f to three miles suits her to a tee. Jordan said she is improving the whole time and is a very exciting mare for the future.

"She'll now have to be campaigned in those staying novice mares' graded races and I'd say yielding to soft won't be an issue for her, although I'm not sure about any softer."

He added "We are a point to point, family-run yard with 20 horses and while this is the only mare we have for the track, it is enjoyable. The lads gave her to me to pre-train so were good enough to leave her, as 95 percent of the yard are either three or four-year-olds."

P. Townend, rider of Ninth Titan trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly and made a mistake at the second last which resulted in him pulling up.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ninth Titan, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
