Mick Winters brought up a near 16/1 double when half-an-hour after Jansboy s success under Pierce Gallagher, Moon Prince landed the @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Handicap Hurdle with Bryan Cooper in the saddle.
A multiple victor 'between the flags,' the Moonax chestnut had endured a lengthy spell on the sidelines before failing to land a touch at Ballinrobe when third.
Here the well-supported Back To Drumdeel looked to be struggling from some way out but in the end it was he that put up most resistance to Moon Prince.
In the end just a short-head separated Moon Prince (drifted right on the run-in) from Back To Drumdeel.
"He might have hit a flat spot at Ballinrobe. He looked a bit flat a few days before he ran and we probably should have run.
"We thought it would have been a fairytale win coming three years after Bryan and him had looked likely to win in Listowel (fell two out).
"He was after exercising this morning and we got a call between half ten and eleven to say that he was getting in (Moon Prince had been a reserve). He was fine and fresh coming racing though.
"He damaged the back of his knee and that's why he was off for so long. He also had leg trouble on top of that.
"I'd like to thank Michael and Kay Hourigan as the swimming we did with him at their place was a great help.
"He's entered in Wincanton and he'll go as a travelling companion with Rebel Fitz (when he runs at Cheltenham this month). He'll run the day before.
