There were plenty of incidents in the 18-runner beginners’ chase at Cork, but it was Who Let De Dogsout who forged the best way home.
Robert Tyner’s mare made steady headway after the fourth last in this two mile five race. Phillip Enright moved her into the lead at the second last. She was strongly pressed by Once And Always at the last, but despite Brian O’Connell’s valiant efforts he was unseated by that horse upon landing.
This left Who Let De Dogsout to come in by two and a half lengths at 9/2. Ravished at 5/1 grabbed second, while Kilcrea got third-placed money at 12/1.
Robert Tyner said: “We had her ready a month ago and we were looking at a chase in Sligo, but we had to wait and wait for the ground to turn and here we are.
“She was rated 114 over hurdles and the race was for horses rated 116 or less and with her getting her mares allowance it was a very suitable race. She was good and ready today.” Benrouge who had led throughout, fell at the third last.
