Patrick & Willie Mullins recorded their third bumper winner in-a-row (after Well Read Man on Tuesday & Mr Groocock yesterday) as Dysart Dancer took the last at Downpatrick this evening, the Down District Council INH Flat Race.
The winning 7yo daughter of Accordion was making her debut for Willie Mullins today after having one run for Seamus Lynch at the Punchestown Festival of 2010.
She ran a nice race there to finish sixth behind My Cool Lady in the valuable ITBA Fillies Scheme Premier Bumper.
She had plenty of subsequent winners behind her including Stephanie Kate, Definite Class and Jacksonslady.
Having opened at 2/1 this morning she was well supported and opened on track at evens. She punted even further from evens and went off at 4/6. Cosmic Wonder (10/1) for Gordon Elliott and Nina Carberry attempted to make all but they could offer no more when passed by the winner entering the straight.
Patrick Mullins (recording his fifth winner of the new season) then pushed his mount out in the final furlong as she came home a comfortable three length winner from the staying on Falcarragh (backed from 6/1 this morning and from 7/2 into 5/2 on course) back in second for David O’Brien & Declan Queally.
Cosmic Wonder plugged on to take third a further three and a quarter lengths back.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins, who was recording his tenth winner of the new season, said afterwards: "She is fit and I want to keep her going as I think she will handle the summer ground.
"She might go for a winners of one bumper now but she will go hurdling soon, as she jumps a hurdle well."
Winning owner Eleanor Manning from Dysart, near Mullingar in Co Westmeath said afterwards: "That is my first winner with my first horse. I had been to every racecourse in Ireland except Downpatrick until today.”
