Weld's good run continues
Precious Gem followed up on her recent win at Leopardstown when she came home in front of the Martin Moloney Stakes Listed Race.
Pat Shanahan who guided the 2/1 favourite to victory hit the front inside the final furlong and stayed on well to hold off Choose Me and Declan McDonogh by a neck.
Kris Weld son to the winning trainer said afterwards: “We thought she’d win, it’s great to win a Listed race and she’s beautifully bred filly.”
“We have no real plans for her, we’ll either go for something similar or a Group 3. We may have to travel for that but that won’t be a problem.”
“Pat [Shanahan] gave her a great ride. This is our second time winning the race, we won it back in 2003 with Maharib and Pat was on board that day too."
