Weather back to winning ways
Mt Weather returned to the winners' enclosure for the first time since September 2008 when landing the five-furlong handicap at Tipperary.
Dick Donohoe's charge is a regular in handicap sprints around the country but was ending a long losing streak when beating Ucanchoose by a length-and-a-quarter.
Declan McDonogh sent his mount to the front just inside the final furlong and he kept on well to land the spoils.
"He's been without a win for a long time but has been running well recently and deserves that," said Donohoe.
"We put the blinkers on him and Declan said he travelled well so they probably made a difference.
"He's very laid back and is a horse you can run regularly as racing doesn't take a lot out of him We don't really want to run him on hard ground though.
"He could go to Laytown, where he has been first and second the last couple of years. There is also a sprint at the Curragh next weekend.
"He's a good horse for his owners as he runs a lot and is a great fun horse."
