A Different World couldn't have been any more game when winning the second split of Sligo's two and a half mile handicap hurdle for trainer Martin Brassil.

The six-year-old Jeremy gelding disputed throughout with Bitview Colin and took over after the third last when the distress signals went out on Bitview Colin.

A Different World came under strong pressure after the penultimate flight with a host of challengers jostling for position. Joan Of Pimlico was the horse to chase A Different World down to the last and she was almost on terms on the run-in.

The leader was soon ridden and gutsily saw his rivals off in the closing stages to win by half a length at 8/1. Miss Us O flashed home late for second at 8/1 from 25/1 in the morning, and was the same distance in front of Temptationinmilan (at an easy-to-back 9/4f) as Joan Of Pimlico dropped out of the places.

This gave jockey Mark Walsh and owner JP McManus a double after Ciel De Neige took the opener.

He said: "We tried different tactics on him today and they seemed to work.

"He ran well at the start of the season in Punchestown but his next two runs were very bad so the change in tactics, and being out in front today, helped.

"He saw out the trip very well."
