Colin Bowe's Victoria Bay landed a gamble with a game display in the extended two and a quarter mile handicap hurdle at Downpatrick.
Sean Flanagan 's mount was left in the lead after the fifth last when Tin Town Liz slipped up on the bend.
She fended off all her rivals, though, and asserted to come home by five and a half lengths at 4/1 having been 8/1 in the morning. Our Rachael was runner-up at 11/2 with Minnie Dahill half a length further back in third at 9/1.
Sean Flanagan said: "When Conor Maxwell (on Tin Town Liz) slipped on the bend, I was left there way too soon.
"Her last run was over three miles and she was unlucky to get beaten. I have ridden her knowing well that she gets the trip and she has done it well.
"She's better on better ground, it was softer ground last time and that is probably why she got beaten.
"She's a grand mare and has a really nice pedigree and will be a nice mare to jump a fence.
"We were confident knowing she would get the trip."
